From Kisumu

From Kisumu, take the Busia road about 17 km up to Kisian, here turn left to Bondo. Drive along up to Ndori (about 36 km), and then turn left to Luanda Kotieno.
Continue for 22 km up to Ruma where there is a left turn again to Luanda

The ferry leaves at 8 am, 11 am, 3pm and 6 pm. The ferry leaves on time. It will take
you 2 - 2 1/2 hours comfortable driving from Kisumu up to the ferry.
